DAN FALVEY- Principal

Prior to Co-Founding BlackBirch , Daniel was a Managing Director with Cushman & Wakefield's Advisory Group’s National Sales Team. As a senior member of the group, he was responsible for origination of all non-brokerage advisory verticals including Financial Reporting, CMBS Due Diligence, Tax Advisory, and Valuation Services.

Prior to joining the National Sales Team, Daniel spent three and a half years with C&W’s Debt, Equity & Structured Finance Group (EDSF). While part of EDSF he assisted in all aspects of the practice including origination, structuring and marketing of commercial real estate, and lodging debt and equity finance transactions and was exclusively retained for over $500 million in hotel financings and sales.

Prior to re-joining Cushman & Wakefield, Daniel opened the New York office for Prism Hotels & Resorts (Prism), a Dallas-based hotel management company. At Prism, he was responsible for the acquisition of new management contracts and receivership engagements. Additionally, his responsibilities included negotiating management agreement fees and terms, and acting as a liaison between the firm’s clients and the operations team.

Prior to joining Prism in late 2009, Daniel spent seven years with Cushman & Wakefield’s V&A Hospitality & Gaming group. During his tenure with the group, he completed work on various appraisals of income-producing properties including office, industrial, multifamily residential And retail properties, with a concentration on hospitality related properties. Additionally, his work scope included feasibility and demand studies, tax appeals, market surveys, valuation of intellectual property and investment analysis.

ROBERT KARP- Principal

Prior to Co-Founding BlackBirch, Rob was a Managing Director at Cushman & Wakefield where he led the Global Occupier Services (GOS) procurement group. He was responsible for driving savings on behalf of C&W's large commercial facility management clients through the implementation of innovative procurement strategies. Leveraging over $5 billion of aggregate vendor spend across 4.5 billion square feet of commercial real estate, Rob utilized C&W’s vast purchasing power to obtain negotiated discounts from hundreds of vendor partners, across several dozen spend categories. Examples of the offerings he negotiated range from janitorial services & supplies, to landscaping, waste management and heavy equipment such as elevators and HVAC systems. Rob was responsible for saving C&W client’s millions of dollars by lowering the costs of the goods and services that C&W property managers purchased on a daily basis.

While at Cushman & Wakefield, Rob’s additional responsibilities included Commodity/Supplier Strategy, Business Development, Supplier Development & Relationship Management, Total Cost Analysis, Process Re-engineering & Technology Enablement, Procure to Pay/ERP Implementation, as well as Merger & Acquisition Integration and Contract Negotiation.

Prior to joining C&W, Rob had over a decade of supply chain experience, working in the global sourcing and procurement groups at leading financial institutions such as JPMorgan Chase and UBS AG where he achieved significant bottom line savings results, utilizing proven sourcing processes and strategies.
